Water is Life

Our Water Project:  Bringing the Gift of Clean Water to a Village

Clean water is critical to our health and well being. Most of us reading this live in places where we take that obvious fact for granted. Today 1.1 billion people aren’t so fortunate. We’ll be hanging out with some of those in their villages in northern Uganda.

Many of our friends have asked if they can participate in our trip somehow. Here’s one way.

As a symbol of the lasting Good News, we plan to bring the good news to one village that clean water is coming in the form of a sustainable well and pump.

The Details

Cost:          $7,000 - $10,000 (We’re raising 10)

Clean Water costs $1 per person per year

10k = 1 well = clean water for 1000 people for at least 10 years

Which village?            Our hosts, Sports Outreach Institute (SOI), will decide.
                                   See qualifications below.

Who digs the well?     SOI partners with a clean water ministry. They’re efficient,
sustainable, know what they’re doing, locals do the work . . .
                                   they’re good.

Our Request

$100 from 100 friends. Will you be one?

Want to give more? Do it! There are plenty of villages on the waiting list.

Sports Outreach Institute In Northern Uganda
Our vision for northern Uganda is to bring Christ in a practical way so the people experience the healing hand of God, the compassionate hand of God, and that they can be restored spiritually, psychologically, emotionally, and physically. - Aloysius Kyazze , SOI Gulu Director

Clean water wells, livestock breeding, farming, vocational training, and sports are just a few of the ways SOI works in the communities in which they serve.

SOI has served in Uganda over 25 years and in northern Uganda, in the villages surrounding Gulu, since 1999. Our strategy is to work through national indigenous workers ministering to their own communities in their own cultural context.
